What is your favorite animal and why?

Could you share a memorable story about a pet you’ve treated?
One of the most unforgettable cases I’ve been part of involved a resilient little kitten who had survived a devastating house fire. The poor kitten arrived with severe burns, many areas of its body missing skin, and all four limbs affected by fused skin at the joints. It was heartbreaking to see such a small animal endure so much.
However, through months of intensive care, dedication, and plenty of love, this brave kitten defied the odds and made a full recovery. The best part? It was reunited with its original family, and together they started a new chapter in a safe, loving home. Witnessing this incredible journey of healing was nothing short of inspiring—it’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do.

If you could communicate with animals, what’s the first thing you would ask them?
I’d ask, “Why aren’t you feeling well?” Understanding exactly what’s bothering them would be invaluable in providing the best care possible. It would eliminate the guesswork and help us quickly relieve their discomfort, ensuring they feel happy and healthy again.

What advancements in veterinary medicine are you most excited about?
I’m especially excited about the integration of behavioral science into veterinary medicine. Ongoing research in this field is paving the way for more effective training methods and strategies to address behavioral issues. These advancements are not only improving the lives of pets but also strengthening the bond between pets and their people, helping them enjoy a happier and more harmonious life together. It’s truly rewarding to see how understanding behavior can make such a positive difference!

What advice would you give pet owners to ensure their pets lead healthy lives?
Prioritize preventative care! Regular check-ups with your veterinarian, even when your pet seems healthy, are key to catching potential issues early. Preventative bloodwork, consistent parasite prevention, a balanced diet, and plenty of exercise all play a crucial role in keeping your pet happy and thriving. Proactive care not only helps pets live longer, healthier lives but also strengthens the bond you share with them.
